Crewmember Touring Info

a short and catchy and descriptive phrase ie. "puppet-packing satirist", or "speed metal folkie".

Only shown to coordinator.
The Perpetual Motion Roadshow is more about energy then about medium -- writing, music, movies, art, anything smart and dynamic goes. If you don't present your work in a lively or engaging manner, then I gently suggest you seek out a more appropriate open mic or reading series.

If you don't happen to have stuff we can check out online, e-mail us and we'll give you an address for you to send a sample of what you do.
It's pretty cheap to tour -- but it's not free. Crashspace will be provided, if the Agent is told in advance. Because three people will be splitting the car and gas costs, it'll cost about $200-400 ($125-250 US) per person depending on whether there is a car available or whether one needs to be rented -- plus any costs you incur getting to and from the starting city. [NOTE: Recently, people have been finding that if they pass the hubcaps at the events the donations half these costs.]

The local act does a performance in their own city, hopefully bringing out a few extra people and getting to know the Roadshow. If you don't want to tour as well, you can skip the rest of the questions and click Submit.
Although there are PMR Agents in each city doing what promo they can, by pooling their contacts & audiences in each city Crewmembers can triple an audience of 5-10 into an audience of 15-30. We'll provide handbill art, basic media addresses, and website support, but that's about it. You've got to be prepared to spread it around via email and take on the responsibility of mailing out press packs of your stuff to media you deem appropriate.
The Roadshow runs on volunteer power. After you go on the Roadshow, would you be willing to help out with the Roadshow in some capacity, for instance, be the local contact and promo person for up to three shows in your city?
This won't decide whether you're invited on the tour, it just helps us put you with complimentary folks if you are chosen,

That's it, you're done! Send 'er off. But if you feel like it, you could also fill in the page on the ways you can help out.
Helping Out

We have had a new design each year, courtesy of Marc Ngui, Matt Blackett, and Kent Matheson. You can see them here: 2003, 2004, & 2005.
By raising the profile of the project we hope to broaden our base of performers, helpers, and audience members.

The grassroots way of spreading the word.
The Agent is the central contact person for the Roadshow in each city, duties below (and outlined in detail here).
The Crewmembers who will be performing will probably be looking for a bed/couch/floor to sleep on for the night if they don't know anyone else in town. (They'll take care of their food and other things, although any guidence from you will be appreciated.)
The local act will be your choice. Bands are good for mixing up the genres, but anyone with an interesting and compelling 10-15 minute act -- ie., not a drone-a-thon reading -- would be perfectly suitable. Ideally it'd also be someone that'll also bring a few extra people out to the show.
We will provide you with handbills and poster art, and you will spread them around to the people and places you think appropriate. Promo will also be being done in advance by the Crewmembers, who will be e-mailing contacts and mailing out press packs.
The Roadshow's been in bars, galleries, basements and bookstores -- anywhere that is good for a lively show and there's no room rental charge.
We're asking Agents to commit to a minimum of three consecutive months. (If it happens that you won't be in town for the date that the Roadshow's coming through, appointing a reliable Substitute Agent is fine.)
The Driver is the key organizer of the entire Roadshow, duties outlined in detail here.
